McDonald’s Swedish Ad Stunt: Bold or Disrespectful?Written by Jovana Radovanovic / Featured in: Advertising, Agency / 23.12.2013.
McDonald’s Sweden knows how to crack a good joke (or at least attempt one). This time, the brand rolled out new series of posters created by DDB Stockholm. As it was stated, the campaign tends to mock around the clichés which are often associated with the elderly people prompting out “If you’re above the age of 65, you get a free cup of coffee with any [meal],” and then repeating it with “We said…”
Is the word about the prejudice or somewhat harsher sense of humor? Accordingly to Gustav Holm, DDB Stockholm art director, it’s not about hearing badly, but about the corny stereotype that old people cannot hear. “In Sweden even older people have a sense of humor,” he added.
What do you think how Scandinavian people will react to this intriguing post?
