SpongeBob [Mail]Pants

Christmas time is all about sharing love, and what better way to do that than by sending handwritten letters to all the people you care about. Emails are not an adequate replacement for letters that you write by hand, put in a carefully selected envelope and dispose in the mailbox.

The United States Postal Service teamed up with Nickelodeon to create the “SpongeBob Mailpants” letter-writing program. This campaign, said to last until January 5th, is set to motivate and teach children how to actually write and mail letters to their loved ones – and motivate parents into buying all of the SpongeBob branded toys they can this season.

Encompassing a particular visage of mailboxes, SpongeBob look-alikes, USPS also provides postage-free SpongeBob postcards at more than 25,000 post offices in the USA and printable stationery. “Square” mailboxes can be found in 13 different cities:  Atlanta, Boston, Charlotte (North Carolina), Chicago, Dallas, Hollywood, Orlando (Florida), Kirkwood (Missouri), Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Philadelphia and Washington.
