Getting up there with Virgin Galactic, Scottish whisky maker Ardbeg launched their whole distillery to a space base to help Texas-based space research company NanoRacks see how some chemicals react in zero gravity. Only a fool would miss out an opportunity like this and Ardbeg ain’t one. They’ve created a limited-edition 12-year-old single malt Ardbeg Galileo whisky which is a vatting of different styles of Ardbeg from 1999.

They’ve also posted a animated video on YouTube that has this sort of retro, Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy visual treatment and feel that describes the epic journey of an Ardbeg rocket to space. The only thing is that at $148 per bottle only true whisky lovers will give themselves the pleasure of drinking this space whisky.
