The luxurious lingerie brand Agent Provocateur has justified once again its synonym for sexappeal. The brands stunning campaign is presented by an even more stunning celebrity face, Mónica Cruz. Penélope Cruz’s little sister couldn’t get a better chance of becoming more noticeable than this. The brand’s campaign for fall/winter 2012, titled ‘Wilhelmina: Show Your True Self’ literally shows all the brands recognizable aspects of being intoxicatingly provocative. It’s photographed and filmed by Tim Pope, who’s well known for his collaborations with Iggy Pop and David Bowie, and with the help of the brand’s creative director Sarah Shotton.
“I wanted it to be romantic Goth, so it’s quite dark but quite beautiful… It’s nostalgic but true to the brand in dark shades of red and purple. It’s set in a Gothic underground space, brought alive by Mónica’s frenzied and fantastical performance. Mónica is a beautiful embodiment of the Agent Provocateur brand, knowingly sexy and empowered by her own sensuality,” said Sarah Shotton.
Sarah Shotton is surely satisfied with her model choice, commenting “She’s a professional dancer, a very sexy woman. I’ve never seen a woman move like that,” she marvelled.
The campaign’s short film set in Victorian London with Monica as a true Victorian lady has a sexy twist in the end. With the creepy photographer and a magical camera we enter in a whole new world of Agent Provocateur – “Well, that’s never happened before”.
