I love how IKEA literally uses it’s furniture to advertise. There was, for instance, the surprise bathroom at the Milan Design Fair, or IKEA L’appart – a whole apartment in the middle of a metro.

This time, IKEA has made a 200 square meter VIP lounge in Terminal 3 of the Paris Charles de Gaulle airport, open for everybody to relax through their waiting time in the boarding area of the airport. The area features 9 rooms, (including one accessible to disabled persons), a living room and a specific children’s area, where passengers can relax, watch TV, read or try out the furniture.

All of the mentioned advertising campaigns, not only spread awareness of the brand and let the customer try out products right there on the spot, they also carry a high level of customer engagement, which we all know is always a big plus. Simply, I love that IKEA knows how to use what it has.

The lounge will be open until the 5th of August 2012.
