Celebrate 2012 London Olympics With Panasonic’s Flag Tags App by Branding Magazine

With less than two months before the 2012 Olympic Games in London, we have witnessed brands such as Coca-Cola, Schweppes, British Airways, Ikea and many more gearing up for the big event that is going to make this summer more special. Panasonic, being the Official Worldwide Olympic Partner in the Audio Video Equipment Category has decided to join the celebration by launching a new Facebook app called Flag Tags, which literally tags your face with your country’s flag – and you don’t even have to wash up afterwards because everything is done on a virtual level, making it also possible to share with your friends the joy of representing your country in such manner.
“Flag Tags is a unique and fun way for people to show their support for their national team during London 2012. As an athlete preparing for the home Olympic Games, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity and I’m thrilled to share this journey with the nation and look forward to seeing all the wonderful painted faces via Flag Tags!”, says Louise Hazel, Panasonic’s Olympic Ambassador

With this app, Panasonic wants to show that the age old tradition of face painting during Olympics and Paralympics will never die and has been successfully converted onto a digital platform making it accessible to anyone with a Facebook account.
“As Official Worldwide Olympic Partner in the Audio Video Equipment Category, we are delighted to announce the launch of Flag Tags which will allow people around the world to show support for their country in the London 2012 Games with this exciting App. The Games unites people all around the world in a way no other sporting event on Earth can, and Panasonic is looking forward to bringing the world together and capturing the Olympic spirit through Flag Tags,” says John Dixon, Brand Communications Director at Panasonic UK.
