Have you ever imagined that fashion and skydiving can be combined in order for a great challenge to be achieved? As a part of the new HTC campaign, Arizona was the place to test out the new HTC flagship smartphone called One X. The device has been used in ‘burst mode’ in order to take the best shots of a model over a relatively short period of time while falling down from the sky. Sounds impressive, no? Well, check out the video then:

This is definitely one of the most interesting and eccentric ways to demonstrate product functionality I have ever seen. The idea was to kick-off the campaign for HTC’s new phone in attention to emphasize user experience as recommendation to potential customers. The task was to capture the black swan-women in the sky, with with the new HTC One X smartphone, by the time they hit the ground.

The student photographers, Tony Mac and Nick Jojola accepted the challenge, but guess what? They have never done the skydiving. As if that was not difficult enough, they were shooting in low light conditions at dawn and dusk. How awesome is that? Wearing metallic silver suit and feathered cape and hood, Roberta Mancino, Italian skydiver, BASE jumper, wing suit flyer and international model was the bird woman in the skies.

The stunt director Norman Kent, world’s best skydiving cinematographer said: “We had no idea even if it this shoot was possible and we invited you here to Arizona to see for yourself. The biggest challenge was to have everybody in the right place at the right time. We are all falling at different speeds and the team has to be in place for the photographers to get their shot.”

It’s no doubt that HTC is going to great lengths in order to impress with the new and amazing campaign in contrast to Apple’s ads for iPhone that have regular continuity.
