Virgin Media has decided to commence its sponsorship of the great British free fall team, called the Red Devils. The team of 12 will be provided with BlackBerry Curve 3G handset packages, to help them stay connected when traveling. The sponsorship also includes a Virgin Media logo to be displayed on the Red Devils’ jumpsuits as well as branding on the team’s website. The team consists of 20 serving soldiers from the Parachute Regiment’s three full-time battalions: 1, 2 & 3 PARA.

Danny Kelly of the Red Devils, said: “Virgin Media is a great brand to partner with and up for the challenge of keeping up with the Red Devils. We need to stay in touch as we move around the UK, and further airfield, and are looking forward to making the most of our shiny new handsets.”
The team has dual and significant role to both promote the Parachute Regiment as well the British Army in support of recruitment.

“The Red Devils are a fantastic example of team work and ambition and what better fit for two red, British, super-fast brands. We’re always looking at innovative new ways to keep you connected, when you’re at home, out and about, on London Underground and now, 13,000 feet above ground.” explains Graeme Oxby, executive director of mobile and home phone at Virgin Media.
Beside Virgin Media, Kukri Sports, Seat and Bloc Eyeware are as well Red Devil’s sponsors.
Also an interesting fact is that last month Virgin Media announced it would be bringing Wi-Fi to the London Underground, initially free to everyone during the London 2012 Olympics, but later at a cost for non-Virgin Media customers.
