Don’t Eat McCain Billboards!
The frozen food manufacturer McCain Foods has found a new way of advertising, probably one of the most interesting I’ve seen. In order to promote its Ready Made Jackets on the bus stops, they made 3D fibreglass jacket potato sculptures. With the press of a button the potato starts to heating up, releasing the aroma of a jacket potatoes baking.
For this kind of billboards McCain worked over the three months with specialized scent labs in with a task to match the warming scent of their baked potato. The campaign was created by advertising agencies BMB creative, JCDecaux, Omnicom media agency PHD and Hyperspace at Aegis Media’s Posterscope.

With this kind of advertising I think there is no way to forget the product and brand. All food manufacturers are certainly thrilled with this idea. I think this is definitely the next generation of advertising, can wait to see what’s next. Pizza, hamburger or maybe roast chicken? For now you can smell this giant potato in New Oxford Street and Tottenham Court Road in London.

Besides the billboards, there’s a pretty much well done commercial for the same product, check it out!
