As Apple earlier said to be planning a special event in New York for the end of this month, it was not considered to be iPad3 nor Apple iTV, but more of a ‘media related concept’. The event will be focused on publishing the new iBookstore.

However, the main focus on this event will be on publishing and eBooks, not the presentation of any new hardware. The eBooks will also be sold through Apple’s iBooks platform, rather than iAds.
One of the possible topics of the event could be an expansion of the iBookstore concept on selling textbooks. In his biography of Steve Jobs, Walter Isaacson said the textbook industry was one Jobs looking to revolutionize with the iPad.
The opinions of the consumers are rather sceptical. Some of them says that even if Apple launches iBookstore, they will still buy their books on Amazon, simply, because they can read it on any other device, while on iBookstore they can only read it on their iPad/iPhone. Still, I believe that any loyal Apple consumer has nothing but apple products, so to him that would be irrelevant.
The fixed date of the event is not known yet, but if Apple launch the iBookstore, that wil definitely brings more competition on publishing eBooks.
