American Express, partnered with YouTube and VEVO, announced that Coldplay will be the latest performer on their live-stream music series, ‘American Express Unstaged‘. The band will collaborate with (in my opinion, fantastic) movie director and photographer – Anton Corbijn, known for movies ‘The American’ and ‘Control’ and music videos for bands such as U2, Depeche Mode, and Coldplay’s “Viva La Vida” music video, among others.
Here’s a bit more info:
“The performance will be broadcasted live globally from one of Spain’s most famous arenas, Plaza de Toros de Las Ventas in Madrid, at 4:00 pm ET /1:00 pm PT on October 26 at www.youtube.com/coldplayVEVO.
It will also be available on mobile devices via VEVO and YouTube apps for iPhone, iPod touch, iPad and Android.
Tickets for the October 26 performance are available for American Express Card members during an exclusive presale window beginning October 7, at 9:00 at www.Ticketmaster.es. General public can by tickets starting October 10, 10:00.”
This should be great. I don’t know about you but I’m a huge Coldplay and Anton Corbijn fan, so I think seeing both of them do their magic together again will be fantastic. As for American Express, I don’t really know what they are gaining through all of this; It is awesome for music fans but will it improve anything for the brand?
