Development, development, development. That’s Google - and it’s preparing to launch a web-based storage service called “Google Drive”. It will compete in the cloud storage industry with Amazon, Dropbox an the upcoming Apple iCloud service.
Google already offers a small part of cloud storage with Google Docs, because the few users who use it are actually using it for online storage instead of just creating new and previewing old documents. Also, Google provides users with a lot of free storage services with Gmail and Picassa, too.
We don’t know yet if Google Drive will be a separate platform from Google Docs or just a re-brand of it so we are yet to see where this is going, but I’m sure that Google will develop a unique service with it’s new Google Drive.
